The Telethon Adventurers

Location: France and Italy

Following the success of our 2010 and 2011 climbs, the Telethon Adventurers are once again off to Chamonix France, this time to climb Gran Paradiso in Italy, while enjoying the best of France's food and wine. We plan to include other fun activities such as hiking, para-sailing etc.

Itinerary

Arrival day: The team meets at 6:30pm in our hotel for a briefing. Your guide will

Day 0 go over the activities for the week and answer last minute questions before dinner. Hotel night.

Day one: Meet your guide early morning, gear check and briefing, take train to Montenvers, telecabine to Mer de Glace. Cramponing, ice climbing and glacier skills. Hotel night.

Day two: Drive to Gran Paradiso National Park (1 1/2 hrs), trek up to Chabod Hut 2715m, (3 hrs). Prepare for climb next day.

Day three: Climb Gran Paradiso 4061m by west flank (5 to 6 hrs) descend to Victor Emmanuel hut (3 to 4 hrs) and Pont 1960m (2 hours) . Drive to Chamonix. Hotel night.

Day four: Telepherique (cable car) to Aiguille du Midi, trek to Cosmiques Hut 3613m (1 hr) early night. Hut night.

Day five: Very early start for traverse of Mont Blanc (7hrs) and descend via Gouter to Tete Rousse hut 3170m (4 to 5 hrs). Hut night.

Day six: Descend to Les Houches, transfer to Chamonix. Debrief. Hotel night.

Depart day, day seven: Breakfast, a chance to exchange photographs and departure. Airport transfers are not included but we can arrange this for you.
