Profile:
My hometown is Perth, my mum’s side was all born in Perth and my dad’s side was all born in Rarotonga in The Cook islands. I’ve had a lot, I repeat a lot of different type of jobs like working at McDonalds, Toyworld, Garbologist (Running Bins), Boiler maker, Waiter, Dishwasher, Megamart Salesmen, Selling ads for Radio a Stations Groove 101.7FM, A short order cook, pumping fuel, Design engineer for just about every Air conditioning company in Perth. There’s a lot more but I think you get the idea. I like to mix it up a little, for the last three years I’ve mostly been working offshore as a Painter/blaster and now newly qualified Advanced Scaffolder. I’m digging scaffolding at the moment; I’m getting paid to play with an adult size Meccano set.
The most important person in my life is my 7 year daughter, princess Tearly, no wait at the moment she’s a mermaid, I’ve got to get that right or I will be in a lot of trouble Barbie princess was so two months ago lol.
I really enjoy riding my Harley and kayaking, climbing mountains, training of any type, travelling and taking photos. I’m a big UFC fan and will be having my first fight soon. One of the most important things to me is helping the truly inspirational Rick Parish, Elliot and The Telethon Adventurers in their flight against childhood cancer.
Reason for becoming an Adventurer:
My family has had a lot of loss, but for me the biggest loss and the biggest hole in my life was losing my baby sister Crystal. I was very young at the time but pain is pain and loss is loss no matter what your age is, it will affect you for the rest of your life. Ever since then I can remember I’ve always wanted to be a part of something that is going to make a real difference and change people’s life’s for the better. I’m no saint I’ve been in trouble and made a lot of mistakes but I truly believe mistakes do not define you, what you do today and what actions you take tomorrow is what defines you. Life is good when you realise that the only limitations in life is your imagination. You can achieve anything; always remember you yourself will always be your biggest critic. Just know you can and you will. That is a fact, that's my mantra like it or not. Always Always be positive.
Last year I saw a post on facebook of Rick Parish donating a cheque to PMH for $920,000.00 it left me speechless what an amazing feet? And it’s all done for the flight against childhood cancer which Rick’s son Elliot (the little pirate) was at war with. Tragically at the age of 4 on February the 10th 2011 the little pirate lost his battle. Rick and his family have one wish and that is that no other family should have the horrific experience that they had. So I climb and fundraise so it doesn’t happen to my family or anyone else’s.
