Reason for becoming an Adventurer:

Rick Parish and his team have created a charity which has a tangible result. Too often you give money away and it seems to disappear into a pool of bigger funds. You’re not exactly sure where that money goes or who it’s realistically benefiting. But the Telethon Adventurers have identified equipment they’ll be buying with the donations they hope to receive and it will be going to the Princess Margaret Hospital’s kid’s cancer unit.

They’re also allocating some of the funds to Fiona Stanley’s Telethon research institute. If anyone is going to put hard earned money to good use it’s these guys.

Cancer is an insidious disease and I’m sad to say that I have a handful of friends and also my husband who have had to deal with it. You see the pain it causes and when kids are suffering you just have to help.
