David Storer Adventurers Bio
Originally from Melbourne I moved to Perth in February and found my nirvana in Fremantle. I am a carpenter by trade but have focussed the past year on developing a career in the yachting industry, with plans to head to France in March to work in the Mediterranean.
I have always been very adventurous, generally jumping at any chance to try something new. 3 years spent in the Australian Army Reserve gave me a huge sense of adventure and ingrained in me the strength and courage to fulfil any challenge I stand in front of.
My goals are to travel around the world, experiencing everything the world has to offer, testing my mind and my body with any opportunity that arises.
Why I became an adventurer?
I have done a lot of work with charities on the eastern states and since moving to Perth have been looking for a charity I could get involved with that was right for me and that I knew was honest, had integrity and supported a cause that I believed in.
I’d love to say I chased down the adventurers but to be honest I followed a cute girl in to a fundraiser (yes I gatecrashed a charity event, not very charitable I know) however when I saw the quality of people who were offering their lives to support such a wonderful cause I knew I had found the right one for me. I now have the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives in an environment that challenges me and breeds success and positivity.
My goal as an adventurer is to make a difference in the world, I have been blessed with a healthy mind and body and I have always believed it is my responsibility to help people who have been faced with challenges in their lives.
I begin my life as an adventurer with a 2 week voyage across the Great Australian Bight with my Dad and will be working towards Mt Everest in 2015.
