Craig Yorke
Preferred name: Craig
Profile: Born in Scotland, the weather and the food didn’t appeal to me so I moved to Perth at the age of 18 and have been here on and off ever since.
Much to the exasperation of my mother, I’ve been getting into my own adventures ever since, be it getting lost in the wilderness or strange city, extreme sports or just plain mischief.
By day I work as a Pharmacist at Inglewood Amcal Chemist where I enjoy helping people of all ages with their health issues whilst testing out my stand up material. I think we have the best workmates and customers in Perth, as long as they keep laughing.
One of my best feelings was climbing Ben Nevis the highest mountain in Britain, heading up into the deep mist and subzero temperatures on a tight schedule being told I couldn’t make it. I Literally felt on top of the world, and charged down in record pace with the euphoria and then the fear of missing my ride home.
Reason for becoming an Adventurer:
I heard about the adventurers through my mate Ethan (aka Rik) and saw the Mont Blanc climb as a bigger challenge and opportunity to revisit my previous mountaineering experiences with a chance to help others on the way.
I have since read and seen much of the challenges that Rick Parish and his family have endured which motivated me to assist in any way I can in finding a cure for cancer. We will make a difference and save childrens lives.
My dad was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, which has spurred me on in my efforts.
