Profile: I am a Perth girl having spent most of my working life with our family company, which took me across the state and included a number of years on the East coast. Currently I am taking a well earned break doing the things I never had time to do, the simple things, spending time with friends & family (especially my two little, wicked nephews) short courses in whatever takes my fancy & taking care of my health.

Reason for becoming an Adventurer: In November last year I heard of a high-school friend’s youngest sons diagnosis with brain & spinal cancer, he had had aggressive treatment, been given the all clear & then tragically the worst outcome. Like so many others I began to follow this family’s journey via their honest & heartbreaking Facebook posts. It was an incredibly personal account, a unique and intimate insight into their pain, anger and despair. When Elliot passed away in February there was an out pouring of sadness & support for his family and I, in-turn, felt compelled to join their quest to protect our children and find a cure for this terrible disease. What shocked me the most was that Elliot's experience was not uncommon, today there are twice as many children in PMH cancer ward as there were last year, something is terribly wrong!

When I look at children I love I can not help but feel sad & quit a bit angry, the "why did I become an Adventurer" is therefore, simple!
