Become an Adventurer

The Telethon Adventurers are a group of people dedicated to finding the cause and ultimately the cure for childhood cancer.

We raise funds by conducting adventurous expeditions all over the world. Every member of each of our events becomes an Adventurer, and conducts their own local fundraising events. Check out some of these events on our event calendar

Why Become an Adventurer?

"Why did you do it? is usually the first question everyone asks when they hear that I was part of the Mont Blanc Climb 2010. My answer? It was physically and mentally the hardest and most challenging thing I have ever undertaken, but (and this is a big but) it is also the best thing I have ever undertaken.

Not only was the climb itself an amazing, once in a lifetime experience, I have also made lifelong friends with like-minded and inspiring people. We are all united in the fight against cancer and the results this produced in the money we raised in 2010 alone speaks for itself. I was part of something amazing that will resonate with me for life. The Telethon Adventurers will continue to make a difference in leaps and bounds."

Johanna Eppler, Mont Blanc Project 2010

"To make a difference or to sit and wait for someone else to make a difference? To be involved or not be involved? These are questions that surround us every day and most of us simply never answer. Well last year I decided to get involved and make a difference. Climb a mountain and raise $20,000, how hard could it be? Well as it turns out, bloody hard, but on the flip side, one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

To tell the truth, the thing that worried me the most was raising $20,000, but ultimately I did it and along the way got to experience a generosity and sense of community that I had never experienced before.

The climb was simply a fantastic experience. Demanding but fun, scary at times but exhilarating, sad as we remembered those kids that had lost their fight, but uplifting as we remembered the reason for the climb and the inspirational children from Ward 3b who had touched our lives in such a positive manner.

Should and can you do it? Absolutely and make a difference!"
